CimTrak consists of four integrated software components: CimTrak Master Repository,CimTrak for Servers, CimTrak for Network Devices, and CimTrak Management Console. Closely coupled, these components not only provide protection of your IT assets, but also invaluable audit trails for both authorized and unauthorized changes. CimTrak runs quietly behind the scene until it is needed, at which time it sends notifications after it has resolved any issues that may have occurred. No interaction is required for CimTrak to be 100% effective in maintaining IT integrity.
CimTrak Master Repository
The CimTrak Master Repository is the fundamental or central component of the CimTrak family. It is where all the authoritative and authenticated copies of protected objects are maintained, digital signatures are created and stored, objects are validated and communication between the four CimTrak family components is performed. A complete revision history is kept on the CimTrak Master Repository allowing you to roll back to any pervious version of a file with a simple click of a mouse.
CimTrak for Servers
The CimTrak for Servers agent is a watchdog for your critical computer servers. Its sole job is to capture and address any event that occurs to any object on the server that is currently being protected. Each server guarded by CimTrak will have a CimTrak for Servers agent installed. Each of these agents in turn communicates, on an as needed basis, through an authenticated and encrypted layer with the CimTrak Master Repository continually maintaining the integrity of the server.
CimTrak for Network Devices
While functioning slightly different, CimTrak for Network Devices provides the same complete protection for your network infrastructure as CimTrak for Servers does for your computer servers. Through encrypted SSH communication, CimTrak for Network Devices constantly checks to see if each network device (router, switch, firewall, Intrusion Detection System, etc.) is in the desired state. Upon discovery that something has been altered without permission, the CimTrak Master Repository instantly restores the device back to its correct operational state.
CimTrak Management Console
CimTrak Management Console is your window into the inner workings of the CimTrak family. Review extensive reports detailing any and all attacks on your servers and network devices and the actions taken automatically by CimTrak. Forensically study quarantined malicious code captured by CimTrak that stealthily past by your firewall, IDS and anti-virus software. Control who can make authorized changes and show what they did and when they did it. Nothing changes without you knowing all the details! And if an authorized change causes disruption, instantly roll back to the previous version to maintain harmony, not to mention happy users.
